Copyright HEMO SAPIENS®The normal values of hemodynamic and oxygen delivery parameters (as a function
of age), which are implemented in the software of the HOTMAN® N/P System, are
based upon a paper Normal Values of Hemodynamic Parameters for Neonatal and Pediatric
Patients, presented at the 5th Congresso Paulista de Terapia Intensiva &
Terapia Intensiva Pediatrica, April 4-7, 1998, Sao Paulo, Brazil and published in
the textbook Systemic Hemodynamics and Hemodynamic Management.
The HOTMAN® N/P System exhibits several differences, when compared to its HOTMAN® BAS System counterpart for adults:
1) It utilizes neonatal and/or pediatric electrodes.
2) The normal ranges for all hemodynamic parameters automatically change as a function of a patient's age.
3) Age is calculated and displayed in days in the top line.
Similarly to the HOTMAN® BAS System for adults, the HOTMAN® N/P System is
software switchable between the "Invasive Data Available"
[used for catheterized patients, where CVP and PAOP values are known and may be entered
via the keyboard] and "All Noninvasive Acquisition" - see the patient
data screens information examples below.
In addition, the HOTMAN® N/P System therapeutic goal can be switched between NORMAL (shown on the
screen examples below) and POSTOPERATIVE.
The following examples of the HOTMAN® N/P Monitoring and Hemodynamic Management pages contain the hemodynamic data of a normal, healthy, 3 year old (1158 day old) boy.
Please note the display of age is in days (the patient below is 1158 days old).
The other features of the N/P System, such as trending, telemedicine, etc., are the same as in the adult counterpart.
